Jason and Owen fishing Lake Toho

Jason Kitzmiller and his son Owen w. Tony Summers 3.20 31

Great trip today with a couple West Virgina mountainers, Jason Kitzmiller and his son Owen. With a well overdue warming trend this third week of March, the fishing here on Lake Toho, is really starting to heat up. We started out the day a bit slow, having a north wind blowing at 10-12mph and a cool breeze, remnants of our last front, making the fish hunker down for a while. It wasn’t long and we began catching.  A couple 3’s, a 4, and even a nice boffins. I found the fish positioned on the north end of some mats in about 2-4 ft of water. The rest of the day continued like this,  with a steady bite on our large wild shiners. We we’re able to key in on this pattern, moving around the lake catching fish every where we found these mats. When it was all said and done we had about 18-20 lbs, our best 5 and a nice 6 1/2 lb kicker largemouth in the mix.

Till next time tight lines and good fishing…
